WHAT IS A DIETITIAN ?

A registered dietian differs greatly from a nutritionist as he or she holds a degree from an accredited university in food, nutiriton, and dietetics and goes through strict clinical training in acute hospital settings and is regulated by a governing body such as College of Dietitians of BC . Dietitians  are qualified to diagnose and treat eating disorders and design diets to treat specific medical conditions,whereas nutritionists deal with general nutritional aims and behaviors. 

WILL MY HEALTH INSURANCE COVER DIETITIAN SERVICES?

Most health insurance companies do offer registered dietitan coverage, please check with your provider. If not availabe, you can claim your receipts for tax purposes. Also,  you can check your coverage details to see if your insurance provider is available for direct e-billing towards REGISTERED DIETITIAN SERVICES through TELUS e-claims.
